Chicago, Dec. 1.—The deliveries of wheat on December contracts, contrary to expectations, were light today, and the crowd completed tho world's visible supply by reporting a decrease In stocks "in and afloat for Europe" of 2,008,000 guhheis. Liverpool and London cables were strong and higher. That the prices did not work their way through cells was a disappointment to the bulls, and eft4r a reasonable period they were dis posing of their holdings wit has little appearanco of display as posslbel. There esmo an easier offering under tho pres sure of selling, bu tbeforo the close values stiffened up a trifle and closed a fraction under the top. May wheat opened from 6074 to 6074, declined to 607ia74. rallied to find closed at 6074-74a14 of a cent higher than yesterday. Cash wheat waa firm and unchanged. Corn.—Local scalpers and room Opera tors had the corn pretty much to them selves today. Sympathy with the finer grain, firm cables, light deliveries on Pe- comber contracts and soft weather com bined to start prices firm, but the trade soon dwindled away until practically no no business was doing. May corn opened from 49 to 1914, sold Between 49 and 1974, closing at 197ia?4—74 of » cent higher than yesterday. Cash corn was weak ad 7ia74 a cent lower than yesterday. Oats.—Prices In oats moved about 74 ot a cent during the entiresessto n. It Is unnecessary, therefore, to refer to tho trade, because there was practically nothing done. A steady feeling ruled, the generally firm tone elsewhere extending to oats. May closed unchanged from yes terday. Cash oats were a shade easier. Provisions.—A little activity was noted in product at tho Immediate start and also at the end of theses sion. but the Intervening time was dull and monoto nous. The strength usually came from the yards, where hogs were firm and In light supply. Later an easy feeling ob tained. but a rally duripg the closing moments was due to some covering by shorts. The close was 774 cents higher than yesterday fqr January pork, 5 cents higher for January lard and 274a5 cents higher for January ribs.
