THE RAH-ROAD PROPERTY.
The Answer to the 41., D. and S. Peti
tion for Injunction.
In answer to the petition filed by
the Macon and Dublin railroad asking
tile United States court to call upon
ll.,A. Denmark sind the Central rail
road receivership to show why the prop
erty known aa the graded roadbed of
and right of way or svannab,
Dublin and-AVegthTn Snort nine rail
road should not be condemned, the
defendants state that the United States
court has no jurisdiction of the matter
by reason of lie fact that requisite di
versity of cltlenshlp does not exist, all
the parties named being citizens of
Georgia. They utao contend that no
uiuseexlsts for the Intervention of the
court or for the relief prayed for In
the petitionee s’blll
The case was assigned for a hearing
In Savannah on the Ith, but as Judge
Speer devoted that aay to the Import
ant hearings In the contempt trials
from Telfair county, which were had In
Macon, he did not reach Savannah un
til last night. Ho opens court there to
day.
In view of the fact that tlm Macon
and Dublin company desires to obtain
possession of the property for the pur.
.. . if ^ -mnrov.il P 0B * of extending Its line to Savan-
lt -pais, and from the l<y K of Pi" nah, which would give practically four
~ " routes to Savannah, tile roads to whom
this sections furnishes the greatest
amount of business nro making a
strong fight to keep tiro property Idle.
Rut us the'Macon and Dublin clalma to
be backed iby ample capital and
strong determination to push through
to Savannah according to their charter,
they will not be estopped from com
pleting their line, even If they can
not have tire property condimned as
they desire. They will simply run a
lino parallel! with the unused right of
way of the Savannah, Dublin and
Western.
But, as the Telegraph staled some
time ago, there are three ways to have
the property condemned, and the ob-
Jeet of the present proceeding la prin
cipally to find out who are defendants.
When that Is done, then the plans
for condemning the property will bo
carried out.

Does not bear tbe slightest resemblance to our stock from
a point of experience, A policeman is always prepared
for almost anything, but our stock of Suits, Overcoats and
Underwear could have hardly been prepared for the
sweeping, remorseless and relentless flashing of prices as
we expect to treat it to this week.
This is no over-rated story, but a true representation of
our exact intention. Your inspection will so find it, find
it a marvelous combination of High Quality, and, how
Price. The truth condensed in a nut shell is: The need
of ready cash, the approaching end of the season force us
