way endowed with any peculiar power.
Mias Abbott's mother believed that her
daughter's power came from an Inti
mate friend of the family who waa pe
culiarly endowed and who died shortly
hefore Annie's birth. Annie has a dif
ferent opinion. She believer her power
came directly to her and thatUt la a
gift from Ood. At the age of seven
ehe removed a sick horse a few feet by
the aid of h'r power. It waa then dis
covered that she had the power while
standing upon a board walk but It left

ground.
Alisa Abbott haa given performances
all over the world. She has appeared
before the crowned heade of Europe
and astonished them aa well as the
learned persons of all countries. Fhyil-
clans have marveled at her remarkable
gift and were not able to explain It.

Atlas Abbott has always desired some
explanation of her gift and haa courted
Investigation from the scientists and

one In Bridgeport who can explain her
powers sway. She will give all the op

Alias Abbott has press notices from
papers printed In almost every lan
guage. All apeak In the highest terms

from the prominent persona of every
country where she haa appeared and

Allss Abbott and they can say then
that they have seen tho two moat re-
markable women on earth.
Alisa Abbott la a great sufferer from
headaches. Bhe believes her ailment re
sults from her power. Her temperature
Is mtteh lower than that of an ordinary

A GOOD SCHEME.
It Ii to Raise Funds for the Poor at
Christmas.
City Clerk Bridges Smith has Inaugu
rated a scheme by which the poor can
be provided for Christmas by contribu
tion* given In such manner" as to be
IltUe felt by the contributors.
For a number of years past it haa
been the custom of the people of Macon
to raise a Christmas fund for the poor
and there Is no calculating the amount
of good and happiness accomplished In
this manner. Clerk Smith htu. In some
manner by common consent, been
booked to take charge of the move
ment and this year he has hit upon a
plan which he thinks will he the most
popular yet tried. The plan Is to form
a club, to be hereafter named, and to
get aa many member* aa possible.
Each member of the club will state
how many tickets be or ahe will take
for distribution among the poor and
these tickets will be given out to those
who are known to be worthy. The
ticket wll entitle the party to whom It
la given to CO cents worth of groceries,
dry goods, fuel or anything the donor
may say—or In other words, It will
read something like this: "This ticket
entitles the holder to CO cents worth
of groceries at the store of B. Good,
the same to be charged to my account.
11. It. Wright." In esses where the
members of the club do not run an ac
count cash can be paid for the tickets
and the money distributed.
Tho object of the ticket Is to make
the payment of the contribution eaay
on the member and also to let the re
cipient select such articles to the
amount of the tickets aa he or ahe may
tlralre.
Clerk Smith la anxious to begin en
rolling names on Monday for member
ship In the club, a* It la necessary to
start In time to raise a sufficient
amount to make the heart of every
poor person In Alacon glad on Christ
mas.
THE BALDWINS,
Monday Night Will Be the Afoat Inter
esting of Them All.
Last night's performance ' by the
Baldwin's! at the Academy of Music
was by far the most interesting and
the most convincing yet given.
Mr. Baldwin was so candid In his
lalk to the audience and so entirely
obliterated all chance of deception or
humbug that every one waa thoroughly
delighted. And every one went away
more convinced than ever that Airs.
Baldwin's clairvoyant work was abso
lutely genuine and simply marvelous.
The rest of the pcformance waa fully
up to the high standard It has estab
lished In Macon as one of the very best
entertainments In comedy work ever
seen In Macon.
The whole Interest, however, con
tinues to center In Airs. Baldwin and
her share of the performance. Last
night she answered questions written
at homo by members of the audience
and carefully guarded aa secrets until
the answer was given from the stage
without any possibility of trickery.
On Alondsy night the dole of the en
gagement Mr. Baldwin will expose the
cabinet trick In which he plays a great
part. Ho will show to the audience
how the marvel la worked and on thla
ground alone la assured of a big house.
But the other expoaeea of the cloalng
night will he none the leas Interesting
and Interest having been aroused to
the hlghet point will be satiated on
Atonday night.
Tho weather permttlntg the academy
will, on Monday night, probably hold
one of tho largest audiences of the
season.

A BIG DIFFERENCE.
Ever notice how they study you at Eads, Neel & Co. ? Your shoulders,
chest, back, carriage, height, walk? And although you may be pleased with a
garment, they’ll ask you not to take it if it isn’t just right. Don’t want it said, you
... . s ,
know, that it came from this store.
Then we combine the study of men with that of cloth and make-up. This
material or style best becomes the clergyman, that the bustling business men, an
other the young collegian. All this doesn’t add to the price. Quite the contrary.
The more skilled the knowledge of cloth and trimmings, the greater the command
of resources, tho more judicious the purchasing, the better the benefits to the cus
tomer. It’s not hard to understand, therefore, why garments bought here arc war-
f . ’ ' ’
ments that carry with them an air all their own and apart from that of thousands
which weary and displease because they look just alike, but aho why they’re better
and less in price than others.
We especially invite you attention to the
HIGH MERITS and SUPERIOR OUALITY' of
WHISKIES offered by us. THE ENORMOUS
BUSINESS which is attributable to us, plainly
shows that the public appreciate good things.
ALL OUR BOTTLE WHISKIES ARE BOT
