benevolent lady, who has shown Inter

At the meeting of council last night
It was resolved that instead of build- j
Ing an auditorium the city would erect .
a large annex to the city hall.
The mayor was directed .to advertise ;
for bids for the building and erection ,
of the annex to the present city hall |
building, and as soon as these bids are
received by council and accepted the
construction of the annex Will Imme
diately proceed.
The cost of the annex shall not ex
ceed the sum of 110,000, and the build
ing will be paid for In cash pt com
pletion.
The following resolution was pre
sented and adopted by council:
"Whereas, The room provided for the
offices necessary for the successful con
duct of the city's business upon tho
first floor of the city ball are inade
quate .for public necessity, the clerk

holser, who died Sunday night, took

ferred to the committee on sidewalks.
