THE MACON TELEGRAPH; THURSDAY MORNING, JULY 18, 1901
In the Schliu brewery you will find a plate ftlass room. In it
are cooling pipes, over which the hot beer drips. Above it is an
air filter, ana no air comes into this room save through that filter.
No germs can reach beer handled with such rare caution.
But, after the beer is aged, we filter it, then bottle and seal it,
then sterilize every bottle.
We take triple precautions because beer is a saccharine
product. Impurities multiply if they get into it. There is no
grade between absolute purity and utter impurity.
Every bottle of Schliu* is absolutely nure, and purity is
healthfulness. Your physician knows — ask him.

DEATH OF MR. J. II. SMITH.
About Fix hundred people living
along the lino of the Georgia Southern
and Florida railroad came up to Ma
con yesterday to enjoy a picnic at the
South Georgia conference Methodist
orphans’ homo in Vlnevllle. Besides
the picnickers were a number of ex
cursionists who came merely for the
ride and to visit Macon.
Those who went out to the orphans’
home were principally the representa
tives of such Sunday schools in south
west Georgia as are Interested in th*
home and Its work. Mr. W. W. Webb,
of Hahira, was one of tho chief pro
moters of the picnic, and he saw that
everybody enjoyed the visit. He found
the people at the home ready to ex
tend a cordial welcome, and the chil
dren of the institution rendered sev
eral selections for the entertainment of
their guests. Rev. T. D. Kills made
an address, as did also Rev. Mr. Huek-
abee on the part of the home, and
Mr. Webb spoke In behalf of the vis
itors.
The visitors carried baskets of their
own and all spread the dinner on the
grounds. It was a bountiful feast.
The Georgia Southern and Florida
railroad .furnished all of the lemons
needed and the Macon Ice Company
supplied ice, so that the crowds .drank
all the lemonade they wanted through
out the picnic.
