In the cubo of Rev. J. II. Dickinson,
colored, who wait found guilty of the
charge of larceny In the criminal
branch of the city court of Atlanta
about live month. ago and ordered to
pay u line of 11,000 or nerve .twelve
montha in the county chain-gang. Dick
inson, when arretted, posed at the
president, vice-president, general man
ager and board of director! of the Jix-
Blave Mutual Relief Bounty and Pen
sion Company, and the echeme that he
wot operating wot lleeclng the negro,,
of Atlanta out of their money, promis
ing them that all who Joined the asso
ciation would receive a pension from
the United States government. His
prosecutors numbered about one hun
dred negroes who had paid an Initiation
fee of 11 each and were paying dues of
25 cents per month. Solicitor Black
says that Dickinson will get a new
trial, but that by the tlmo the case Is
•gain called he will have eerved twelve
months In Jail.
