Skillful Treatment.
treat any disease, a perfect understanding of thn com* in
y ullit» brarlngs * absolutely necessary. !£ep»cially
la tbia true of Chronic; Dlepaae*, which explains
why they cannot be cured by the average physi
cian. A complete knowledge of these dlHeapea can
be obtained only by years of constant :«tudy a:.0
experience, which It fa Impossible for the buay
practicing physician to acquire. My claim to «*u-
perlor ability is based upon the fact that for twenty
years I have devoted myaolf to the close study and
treatment of Chronic Diseases exclusively. I have
treated more cases than any other physician In the
United States and It l* but reasonable that I should
know more about them than the average physician,
no matter how competent he may be In general
practice.
I keep Inclose touch with late discoveries In
medical science. I employ no old-fashioned method
of treatment My patients are among the beat peo
ple of the South, who have found me skillful, hon-
. orable and upright In all my transactions. All
who suffer from any chronic disease, such as Bladder and Kidney Complaint,
Nervous Debility. Stricture, Varicocele, Blood and Skin Diseases, Rheumatism,
Catarrh. Dlaeju*» of Women, etc., can receive from me the most expert and
skillful treatment obtainable anywhere. I invite free consultation, either at
my office or by Jhuil. Bend for aympto m blanks, explaining my successful
plan ot borne treatment.

A petition numerously rigned will be
presented to the mayor and council
tonight asking that body to correct
certain grievances against the Metro
politan Street Car Company.
The circulators of-it say the petition
is signed by three hundred or more
of ’the residents of the . city and su
burbs who . are patrons of the car
lino which runs from Fourth and
Cherry to Bellevue.
The petition asks that the authority
of tho mayor and council be exercised
to require improved service and accom-
modatlon on the line. The petitioners
claim that the car service on Satur
days and Sundays Is Inadequate. and
unfit for the accommodation of* re
spectable passengers; they also claim
that the rolling stock i* not kept in
repair, and that the line has never
put a summer car on the line. The
petitioners further claim that the
road bed Is unlit to be used and at
some places It is so rough that the
cars ar»* in danger of being derailed.
The petition claims that the Metro
politan Street Hallway Company have
established a park near the Log Cabin
Club for tho purpose of being ured by
the negroes as a pleasure ground, and
that the negroes when being brought
bnck to tho city at nignt from tho
park are generally boisterous and
sometimes the residents along the line
are In danger of their lives by the
plntols fired off In careless manner.
Manager Winters was asked yester
day afternoon If he knew of the pe
tition and Its purport. lie replied that
he had been posted.
“They may hove the charter if they
want it,” he atrld; “We navp hod a
number of complaints about the closed
cars In summer, and I have been try
ing to got open ones to take their
placer, but so far have been unable
to do so, because every shop In the
country Is behind with orders, and I
am compelled to wait a year for my
turn. We have wonted to get ready
for the travel to and from the ‘new
rifle range, but It takes time to do
such things.
“Po fur as the complaint about our
service generally Is concerned, I will
say that we have as good cars«on“ihe
Metropolitan as on the other linos.
You could not tell them apart If you
sow them all together. And as for
schedules we make perfect time. We
hnvo nothing to do but run. We nre
not bothered with stopping to take on
or Jet off passengers, for the line has
no such Inconveniences. It Is true
early In the morning ana at G o'clock
In the evening we carry a load of peo
ple, but nil the 'other time we simply
run to make schedule*, and every fif
teen minutes a car leaves Fourth
•treet for Napier Heights, and every
Jfteen minutes one returns. We are
Joint thu best wo can, and if any-
bwly wants our line we nre ready to
negotiate.”
