THE MACON - TELEGRAPH: SATURDAY MORNING, JULY 27, 1901
M. Pasteur, of France, invented a process for kill
ing all possible germs in a product, and we use it.
After each bottle of Schlitz beer is filled and sealed
it is sterilized.
This is an extreme precaution. The beer is brewed
in extreme cleanliness, cooled in filtered air, then
filtered. It seems impossible for a taint of impurity to
get to it. Yet we sterilize every bottle.
We, who know brewing, know the value of purity.
We add vastly to the necessary cost of our beer to
assure it. You who drink it get the healthful results of
our precaution. Your physician knows; ask him.

THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE WILL
MEET ON MONDAY TO CONSIDER
THE HOLDING OF A PRIMARY—ON
LY TWO CANDIDATES IN THE
RACE FOR COMMISSIONER.
The registration books will close to
night and will be turned over to the
registrars to prepare lists for the elec
tion to be held August 13 for county
commissioner.
Those who voted in the election of
last fall and have paid all taxes due
up to the beginning of this year are
qualified to vote without registering
again, but those who were not regis
tered for the last elections, and who
have not registered* this year will have
to register today, or they will not be
able to express a choice as between
Mr. Amason and Mr. Artope, who are
the only candidates in the race for
commissioner.
The executive committee will meet
Monday at noon to decide whether sr
not a primary shall be held. It in
thought to be quite likely that there
will be no primary, because of the lack
of time and the small negro vote that
is registered.
MR. WORSHAM
SURE TO RUN
The Gentleman Fron
Want to Sue
Senate.
cd Mr. Ellis in the
Hon. W. A. Worsham of Monroe
county, a popular citizen and promi
nent planter, spent yesterday In Ma
con with his friends.
Mr. Worsham stated to a number of
friends that although he had made no
formal announcement, he would posi
tively be In the race for the senator-
ship from this district. It has been
conceded for some time that Mr. Wor
sham would be a candidate, but he
gave no definite answer to the re
quests that were made of him to en
ter the race.
Mr. Worsham has represented Mon
roe county in the legislature. When
he goes Into a race he goes In to win,
and his friends say that.he has never
run for an office but that he was suc
cessful.
The political gossips from Monroe de
clare that tnere will be a lively time
In that neck of the woods when the
amp.ilgn opens In earnest, as there
art* at least two more oandUlates who
will get Into the game when the ball
obens.
Mr. Worsham reports crops In Mon
roe Inferior to what they usually are.
but thinks that the farmers will he In
ood condition when th* crops are
gathered.
