money under false pretenses. The com
plainant Is John Kasensak of llazle-

ing Company and the Trailers’ Surety
Company of Jersey City, and A. R.
Powell Co., Hoboken. It was alleged
that the three companies were com
posed of the same persons.
The Consumer*' Distilling Compuny
*ent out agents, who represented they
had large quantities of whisky in bond
in the Hudson couuty warehouse, and
were willing to sell It at less than mar
ket rates, the purchaser to pay one-
third down, the balance to be paid on
the delivery of the goods. The concern
referred to the Traders' Surety Com
pany and the A. R. Powell Co., both
of which commended the Cotymmers'
Company. •
A raid on the three concerns was
planned, hut the managers had taken
fright and fled. The Hudson county
warehouse proved to be a mythv All
that remained was the stock <'f the A
R. Powell Co. at Hoboken. Tnls was
•fixed, but instead of whisky, tt was
found that all the barrels and bottles
were filled with water. Jacobson re
fused to make arty statement.
