ATLANTA, June 1.—Augusta has se
cured the encampment of the First and
Third regiments of Infantry commanded
by Col. Arthur Gordon of Savannah
and Col. Usher Thomason of Madison,
In the order named. Both of these com
mands will go Into camp on the Sarid
Hills just outside of the city of Au
gusta on the 8th of August and re
main Jn camp one week.
Governor Terrell and hla staff will
visit the encampment 'tin August 11th
and review the troops. All of this was
decided upon this hfternoon by Gover
nor Terrell.
Augusta’s offer, which was accepted
by the governor, was to place Camp
McKenzie In first class condition and
to subscribe ajxmt $1,600 towards the
expenses cf transportation of the troops
and their equipment.
Governor Terrell is working upon a
plan and thinks he will succeed to have
a battalion of regulars ordered Into
camp at both Griffin anj Augusta, so
that the state troops while In camp
there will have the benefit of the ex
perience of the men of the regular
army. He thinks that this arrangement
would result in great good to the state
troops, and believes that Gen. Chaffee
will Indorse the plan proposed. If this
Is done the two battalions quartered at
McPherson barracks will be
this way, one of them being ordered
to Griffin and the other to Augusta.
Diagrams of the scene of the killing
were Introduced by the prosecution and
the defense used these with the purpose
of controverting the evidence of Drug
gist Gwaltney as to his having seen the
shooting from his window. -There was
no new evidence.
James H. Pou and W. H. Day spoke
for Haywood, urgiUg that there was
simply an altercation and thnt Ilay-
,1 got out his pistol after he was
struck quicker than Skinner and shot
They asked for hall nt a figure not ex-
slve. It. C. Strong, and Donnell Gil
liam spoke for the prosecution and
urged that the case was not one that
bailable. Argument will be con
cluded tomorrow.

Germ Infected Ait*.
Malaria is not confined exclusively to the swamps
and marshy regions of the country, but wherever there ia
bad air this insidious foe to health is found. Poisonous
vapors and gases from sewers, and the musty air of damp,
cellars are laden with the germs of this miserable disc '.sc,
which are breathed into the lungs and taken up by the
Uood and transmitted to every part <4 the body. 'I lien
you begin to feel out of sorts without ever suspecting the
cause. No energy or appetite, dull headaches, sleepy nd
tired and completely fagged out from the slightest c ?r

malady. As the disease progresses and the blood beco ac»
more deeply poisoned, boils and abs.ic-ses and darl or
yellow spots appear upon the skin. \V1. n the poison is
