He Is the sole survivor of Savannah
scalpers, nil others having yielded to
the ordinance recently passed. Lipp-
man has delled the city, however, and
promises to make a test of hts case to
the Inst. The decision of the recorder
was not given today. The case has de
veloped a point of Interest In bringing
forth from City Attorney William Oar
rard an opinion to the effect that he
law granting licenses free to Confed
erate veterans Is unconstitutional. In
that It Is class legislation. This mat
ter has been submitted to the attorney
general by the tax collector of the
couny.

the appointing of a committee of one

Greene, a local art merchant, for the
second time was on trial today In the
superior - court, charged with assault
with Intent to murder committed on
Policeman Charles Collins. .The first
trial was a mistrial. The trial today
resulted In the acquittal of the defend

mayor’s ' off Ice while a hearing of a
charge brought by the citizen for ma
licious arrest was In progress. For
