Homer Wright, who has been one of
the principal educators * hero for the
past three years, will have charge of
school at Quitman next .year.
He left for that place last week. He
will be succeeded hero by Professor
Charles D. Mathews, who has been at

Miss Gertrude Proctor, who has been
entertained by Miss Allle Smith on
Taylor street the past week, returned
to her home at Forsyth yesterday.
Miss Mary White of Buena Vista Is
stopping for several weeks with Mrs.
A. D. Reeves on West Poplar street.
W. A. Slaton left this morning for In
dian Springs, where he will spend two
weeks at the Wigwam.
Col. and Mrs. W. B. H. Searcy. Jr.,
will leave next week for Saluda, N. C.,
where Mrs. Searcy will spend the sum

Rev. George Ilendree Harrison will
leave next week for Sewanee, Tenn„

FITZGERALD, Gn.. July 31.—Thu

destroyed by tire. It seems that In tho

the whisky accidentally caught on flre.
