as indicated by private estimated condi
tions, showing a slight Improvement In

wair a renewal of support from local bulls,
however, and with offerings light, tho
market following tho call, was fairly
steady. Business was very quiet, and
prices ruled irregular, fluctuating within
a point or so of the opening figures, ow
ing to the holiday nbrond. Thero were

op of cotton wehe reported at Houston,
and the weather reports on tno crop were
generally favorable.
Receipts of cotton today nt the ports
were 4.063 bales against. 2,019 bales
last week and 279 bales last year. F
the week 18,000 lnb-n against 14,838 bal
last week and 1,471 bales last year. To
day's receipts at New Orleuns were 1,484
bales against 176 bales last yenr. and
at Houston 31 bales against nothing lost
year.
