Jr., Judge of said court, this 29th day of
Macon won yesterday from the Jays
of Jacksonville. Two thousand root-
mad as the locals trimmed
tho visitors by the score of 3 to 0.
Shortly before the bass voice of
Burke announced that play was in or
der Manager Smith announced that
the Cuban Import. Viola, would treat
the crowd to a specimen of his lofty
distanced throwing. Away back to re
gions of the tall weeds In center Billy
led the athlete. After trying to toll the
Cuban something without the aid of
nn experienced Interpreter, Smith mo
tioned with his fingers to tho stands
atch out. Viola turned the pesky
thing go and It landed on the top of
the grandstand and went over It. He
then dug back farther from tho plate
and, standing near the center field
fence, plugged away for his second
shot. This time . the ball struck near
the gate In the hands of Harry Stew
art.
Alvin Bayne worked the ropes for
Macon, while Dovoy did likewise for
the Jays. Bayne managed the lines
with ns much ease and grace as f
Newport debutanto, but Dovey’s rib
bons were loosened from the steering
gear after six Innings had been blotted
out.
Bayne opened the battle by letting
three men face him. Dovey started by
striking out Llpe and then handing
Smith four bad ones.
Nothing stirring happened until the
sixth, when with no ono out Alvin
Ilayne slapped the ball not delicately
on the nose nnd sent it reeling over
the fence planks In right On tho way
home he was mot at third by President
Kohler and Billy Smith. Mr. Kohler
.presented the swatter with a handful
of silver.
