GEORGIA DAY.
nlshod.
Telephone No. 2036.
It Will Bo Celebrated at St. Louis on
September 29th,
ATLANTA. Hept. 9.—The scheme to
have on Atlanta day nt 8t. Louis has
fallen through, but Georgia Day at the
big exposition will be on the boards on
September 89th. The failure of the
movement to have an Atlanta building
had much to do with knocking out all
plans for an Atlanta day, It being con
ceded thnt there wag nothing for Atlan
ta to Jubilate over. Mityor Howell has
written President Francis thnt Atlanta
will not be officially represented upon
any particular day and In consequence
there will be no occasion for a day to
be named after her. Georgia Day. how
ever. will occur September 29th, nnd
Governor Terrell will be there with
nbout twenty-five members of hls staff.
The governor nnd hls party will leave
here on the 28th instant in a special
car, and it la quite likely that a couple
of score of prominent Georgians will go
along with him. Recently the governor
hns received quite n number of letters
from friends who stated that they ex
pected to be In St. Louis on Georgia
Day.
