The reception given by the faculty
and the students of Wesleyan college
to Mrs. John B. Cobb yesterday even
ing from 6 to 7 d’cloclc was one of the
ost pleasant features of the opening
the present college year. This re-

islted were entertained In a most
lightful manner.
During the evening the grand par

the friends of Mrs. Cobb and of tho

proved highly successful. Those

Itneased a more enjoyable reception
In the halls of Wesleyan college.
Tho reception was more largely at
tended by tho gentlemen friends of
Mrs. Cobb nnd the college than had
been expected at the busy time in
the city, and the ladles who attended
from out In town swelled the crowd
until the scene during the evening in
the parlors of the college was one of
solid merriment to many people.
The young ladles of the Senior class

pleasures of tho recoptlon that Mrs.

from all those who engaged In tho
pleasant tnlks of the evening with her.
She was herself forgetful of the part

a great deal towards making tho
lng delightful for the visitors. Her
daughter, Mrs. Lowe, of Marietta, Ga.

taker In the enjoyment of the evening.
President Gucrry stated last night
that tho attendance at the college at
tho time was about 300. Tho enroll
