PRESIDENT KOHLER
BACK FROM SESSION
He Talks of the Change* That Ar© to
Be made in 8outh Atlantio League
Next Seaton—The Complete Batting
Averages Will Not Be Out Before
First of November,
President Fell* Kohler returned to
Macon yesterday after attending the
session held by the directors of the
South Atlantic League at Savannah.
During the three days In which the
conference and discussion took place
between the baseball magnates of the
southeast many questions of Impor
tance to the welfare of the league arose
and many were decided before the di
rectors left Savannah for their homes..
The change made In connection with
ladles' day was one of the more Impor
tant moves made during the session.
Hitherto all ladles might enter the ball
parks free on certain days or day In
the week. Next year It will be some
what different. When the season
opens tickets will be placed on sale
by each club directors. One dollar
purchases a season ticket for the
ladles' days. Armed with such a print
ed piece of paper any lady may visit
each and all of the games played on
ladles day, without It the fair rooters
will be asked for the regular price of
admission. This rule was made so as
to prevent the ladles who attend the
games regularly from being crowded
out by those who rooted on the free
days only. Tuesdays and Fridays have
been net aside ns ladles days for next
season.
"No." said President Kohler, In
speaking of the next league president.
"We can't tell what will be done, hut
from the way things are looking at
present It Is quite probable that Mr.
Boyer will be re-elected. The war
that was at one time wnged against
him by a number of the club managers
seemed to have passed away before
the meeting was held. Next January
the directors will hold another confer
ence nnd not until then will the ques
tion be settled.”
Since the season In South Atlantic
warfare passed both Mr. Kohler and
Manager Smith have received offers to
tske charge of one of the strong teams
In the Kastern Association. The scr
vices of Mr. Kohler are sought after
to look after the money end of tho
club while Billy Is wanted to manage
things nmong the salaried men. . Both
gentlemen nre too well pleased W ( ith
the success of the past season to con
sider seriously any such offers, Induc
ing as they nre.
