his home last Sunday while he was

to buying on behulf of Mr. Sully, who
apparently again bulling the market,
this time simply from force of hnblt.
As far as can be ascertained, certainly
there Is nothing In the present situa
tion to justify higher prices, and. m
my opinion, every prospect of a decline
at least 9 cents u pound. The gov
ernment report definitely assures n
crop entirely sufficient for the world's
needs, even at 9 cents, and any move
ment that looks towards maintaining
the prices of cotton above that figure

CAUGHT IN BELTING.
Young Man in Carroll County Badly
Hurt at a Ginnery.
CARROLLTON. Os.. Oct. J.—A few
days ago Mr. James Arthur, a well
known young white man In the west
ern part of this county, while around a
gin, was caught by the belt and thrown
headlong against the machinery, build
ing. pulleys, etc., nnd was knocked
senseless and seemed to be fatally In
jured. Upon Investigation it won found
that one arm waa broken, his head was
gaahed, chest and limbs badly bruised,
and he was suffering Intensely. The
belt had carried him many feet, turn
ing him a somersault and tossing him
at frightful speed.

W. Turner, nn old and highly esteemed

home four miles north of Elberton last

honors. He was about 96 years old !
