Mexico, says:
The news that reaches Mexican west
coast ports, through visitors from Gua
temala is that this little republic Is on
the verge of another revolution. The
cause Is an act of war on the part of
the republic of Salvador. General Sal
vador Toledo is now preparing to in
vade Guatemala at the head of forces
furnished by the Salvadorean republic
and it Is feared that the trouble once
started Is likely to involve all central
America. President Cabrera of Gua
temala. who owes hla power to General
Toledo, haa turned against Toledo, who
Is now to be forced In the presidency
of Guatemala through the aid of thirty
thousand • Salvadorean troops.
Conditions In Guatemala are reported
worse than In many years. An Ameri
can dollar-Is worth $15 of the currency
of the country.

ing and was cordially welcomed at the
station by Prince Ferdinand. The day's
ceremonies concluded with a dinner In
honor of the ro>al guest at which In
offering a toast to King Peter, Prlnct
Ferdinand said the visit constituted an
epoch In the I'fe of the two peoples
and was an expression of their sincere
and mutual understanding. The prince
emphasised the necessity of a friendly
and Intimate union, on which the fu
ture of the two countries depended.
King Peter, in responding, aald his

vian politer devoted to a sincere rap-
prochcmane. It nfTorded him great
pleasure, he asfd, to find Prince Ferdi
nand animated by the same senti
ments. This 'visit, King Peter added,
would give a fresh impulse to their ef

two peoples.
The Macedonian committee has pub
lished a manifesto declining to partic
ipate In the reception accorded to King
Peter on the ground that the under
standing established between the two

Kentucky Company Formed to Fight
Tobacco Trust About to Go Under.
LEXINGTON. Ky., Oct. 30.—In a
aliened statement W. B. Hawkins, pres
ident or the Burtev Tobacco Growers
Co., says that "therdeath kneel of the

The plans of the company which waa
conceived to fight the tobacco trUnt,

Growers throughout the BOrley district
were asked to place their crops with

backing in Louisville warehousing
companies to the extent of $8,000,000.

The Tercio Mine Explosion.
TRINIDAD, Col.. Oct. 30.—No bodies
have yet been taken out of the mine
at.Tercio, where an explosion entomb
ed forty-nine miners Friday, according
to a statement of the coroner, who re
turned from Tcrclo tonight. Three
bodies supposed to have been recover
ed last night, and fto reported to the
coroners' office here, are still In the
mine. 8o great waa the explosion that
huge boulders block the progress ef the
rescuers and make blasting necessary.
The blasts cause further rockslldes.
Coroner 8lpe tonight said that It might
be a day, a week or two weeks before
the mine can be explored, on account of
the frequent cave-Ins.
The New Three Relief System Was Put
on Yesterday.
The police force of the city has been
placed under the three reliefs and the
patrolmen are now working under tho
new system In the manner planned be
fore the fair. This began yesterday snd
the first change took place at 8 o'clock.
The duty of the officers has been un
usually heavy during the fair and they
have been on the regular beats as pro
vided in the tweive hour- system which
held before the change was made.

DECORAH. Iowa. Oct. 30.—Rev. Ja
cob Aal Otteaon, one of the original
members of the Norwegian Lutheran
synod of America, is dead at his home

Men Wro Operated Jingle Boards at
State Fair Will Have Hearing Before
Board of Pardons In Atlanta Today.
Attorneys representing the men who
were placed In prison and fined In city
court for running Jingle boards at the
state fair eight days ago, went to At
lanta yesterday to be present when on
application will be made to the pardon
board this morning for a reprieve for the
men.*
They carried with them a petition sign
ed by members of the board of directors
of the Macon Fair Association. The at
torneys will present their plea today be
fore the board but It Is not certain
whether an answer -will be had.
Four of the men aro still In Bibb jail.
One of the five paid hla fine and left the
Jail shortly after it was imposed, but
the others hiwe sought redress since the
action of the city court.
