As to Fruit
WE BOUGHT LARGELY AND HAVE
PUT THE PRICE DOWN TO AL
MOST WHOLESALE COST,
With all other battles out of the
way and with but one day Intervening
before the annual meeting the war-
riora at Athena are straining every
nerve to bring about a reversal of
form, and those at Auburn are doing
all In their power to keep up the win
ning streak. A great contrast It la
between the records of the two teams,
this season. Auburn has trimmed every
opponent and Georgia has licked but
one team. Things are not the same
now, however, and the team which the
Red and Black sends against the
Orange and Blue athletes Thursday
afternoon will be different from the
one that has gone down In three'de
feats this season.
The following statement was made
last night to a Telegraph reporter by a
Georgia man:
"Georgia's chances against Auburn
on Thanksgiving Day will be better
than those she held against the Geor
gia Techs on the 12th. The new
backfleld Is now almost as fast as that
of 1902. The players are working
with a better spirit than ever before
and the student body Is behind the
team to a man. The boys up at the
school are not In the least worried by
comparative scores this season and do
not believe that Georgia will be beaten
through the fact that Auburn defeated
Tech and Tech beat us. Why corn-
pars tlve scores are hardly worth the
space It takes to print them. For In
stance look at the North Carolina-Vir
ginia game of last season. During the
fall campaign Virginia trimmed V. P. I.
by tho score of 21 to 0. A few days
later the V. P. I. eleven walloped tho
padding out of North Carolina to the
tune of 20 to nit Then to bring mat
ters to a cosy close North Carolina re
versed form and slapped back at Vir
ginia with a 16 to 0 score.
"That's Just the way It goes. Now
up at Athens we all hope for the best.”
Assistant Manager Ragan was the
speaker.
Yesterday afternoon two additional
graduate-coaches arrived at Athens and
will be at work with the team this af
ternoon. Marvin Dickinson, Barnard,
and a score of others line up dally
against the regulars.
At Auburn things are running on a
more greased plane. And no wonder.
The team has been together since the
Jump and no sudden changes In the
line up. have hindered the even bass of
the football campaign In those quart
ern. The one all-absorbing point that
the Auburn coaches are working
against Is to prevent over-confidence
from cropping out. At Auburn the men
know of the many changea for the bet
ter at Georgia,
The betting yesterday favored Au
burn at odds of 2 and 3 to

Letter of Preaident Guerry Explain*
How and Why Card* ere ls*u*d for
Recital*—Firat Program on Monday
Night.
President Guerry of Wesleyan an
nounces the plan of securing an au
dience of those who appreciate music
at Wesleyan during the recitals which
will begin with next Monday night
The season opens at this time with
ono of the most interesting programs
ever arranged for a musical at this
Institution.
The program has already been given
out and the cards sre being issued to
the friends of Wesleyan, and all per
sons who wlflh to hear these recitals.
Following Is a letter written by
President Guerry:
"We wish the friends of Wesleyan
to understand how we are Issuing sea
son admission cards to our music re
cital* and our reasons for Issuing
them.' Our purpose Is to have au
diences who will come to enjoy the
music and who will allow others to do
In the past, so many came who
cared nothing for the music and who
spent their time-In laughing and talk
ing, and in being otherwise disorderly,
and In thus preventing 1 other* £/fi
enjoying the music, that
were frequently very' *, jfu-L
sometimes extremely so.J* JtnovJ
Our room being llmltlfeo JflJ-
tlmes happened that kaj» f Jlpla
who had a vary high apKf to |Ton of
music, werA excluded becau\lyowded
out by children, some of whopjr though
behaving well, scarcely understood the
nature Of the occasions. . v ■■
'The plan we have adopted of Issu
ing admission cards, gives us vastly
more trouble than t does our friends,
as we are Issuing several thousand of
them. As you can readily understand,
It becomes necessary for us to have a
definite system and certain hours In
which to issue them. We cannot at
tend to telephone requests for tickets,
ns such requests largely Interfere with
the duties of the secretaries and my
self. Our friends can get these tickets,
which are’ Issued to them singly, by
applying in person or sending messen
gers for them, any day during this
week during the following hours: From
10 to 1 and from 2:30 to 5, and also
from 10 to J on Monday next. After 1
o’clock on that day no cards can be
Issued. There will be nt that time no
one to Issue them. Those who cannot
come or send for cards may apply for
them through the mails, giving the
named of those desiring them nnd en
closing stamped envelope—not stamps,
but stamped envelopes. •
•As we are striving to make our oc
casions ss pleasant ns possible to our
friends, and as we are admitting them
free and at some expense to ourselves,
we trust that they will be considerate
nnd save us unnecessary trouble. Yours
sincerely, DuPONT GUERRY.”

BOGUS DRAFT MAN
MAY BE BROUGHT HERE
R. G, Murphy Now In Custody at Rich
mond is Wanted as Badly in Macon
as in Many Other Southern Points.
Should city officials at New Orleans
and Savannah desire not to have R. Tl.
Murphy, the alleged passer of bad
drafts, brought back and placed on trial
at these places It Is very probable that
he will be sent for by Macon authori
ties, brought to Macon, and be held
to answer for working off worthless
drafts upon business men of the city.
In case New Orleans and Savannah do
decide to have Murphy brought from
Richmond back to Georgia It is likely
that when these places are through
with him he will be brought to Ma
con. New Orleans seems to want
Murphy the worst. Macon authorities
learn that the Crescent City merchants
who lost by the game of Murphy have
offered a reword for his return.
Mr. Fred DeBarry, of the Mu mm's
Co., has notified Mr. Loh of the Plaza
Hotel tht the arrest of Murphy has
been made. DeBarry may desire to
prosecute the man on other charges,
as Murphy claimed to be a rightful
representation of the company and Is
supposed to have transacted business
under its name.

the neatest of the kind this season.
The covers of the book are strikingly
Illustrated with the likeness of Grover

book Is dedicated to the army of
sportsmen woh have found the South
an ideal field for sport and recreation.
It Is descriptive of the best localities
In the South for various kinds of game
and fish. State game laws are given
and guides recommended.
John Adams, tho man who attempted
to end bis, life a few days ago by swal
lowing a large done of laudanum, was
discharged from the Macon hoapltal
Monday morning. His condition was
so Improved that further medical at
tention from city authorities was
deemed unnecessary. When Adams
carl red to the hospital several days
ago his condition was not as bad ns
many first thought wan the case. The
work of friends and the ambulance sur
geon brought the man partially from
under the Influences of the drug and
when the hospital waa reached the
statement wa*. made that Adams’ life
would be saved.
Despondency from lack of employ

attempted suicide. Adsms Is a young
