At this section the first prtee was
won by Mrs. James Corbin. This was
a beautiful lace fan. The lone hand
prlfce, a handsome va*e. went to Mrs.
Nicholas Ulock. and Mrs. Cookerly re
ceived the consolation prize, a cut
glass vlniagrette, with silver mourn
ings.
Refreshments were served after the
game, and the function was a beautiful
one, and quite a success in every res
pect.
Mrs. John Holmes Hostess.
Mrs. John C. Holmes entertained the
Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club the
past week, at a morning function, on
account,of the afternoon party given
by Mrs.' Hughes, on that day.
An Interesting game closed the series
twelve, which Is played before any
prize is awarded;
On Wednesday Mrs, O. W. Hicks re
ceived the handsome beer stein which
given for the highest score at the
twelve games.
The party was a beauMful one. the
decorations of chrysanthemums, ferns
and palms being very effective. After
game a beautiful luncheon was
served at the card tables.

Through relatives It is learned that
Mr. William P. Coleman will spend the
months of February and March In Ma
con, which will be pleasant news to
her many friends In the city. The
weather, so far, In Toronto has been
delightful, but as the winter advances,
becomes more rigorous and severe,
and It is Mrs. Coleman's Intention to
spend the two most trying months in
the South.
Mrs. M. M. Stapler returned
Monday from Baltimore, where she
has been the past month with her
mother. Mrs. Walter Stevens, who is
being treated at a hospital there (or
nervous prostration, and her majiy
friends in Macon will be glad to know
that she Is somewhat Improved. Miss
Marie Stevens left immediately to Jqln
her mother and will be with her some
time.
Miss Rosalind Davis who left hoitie
about the middle of October for t|ie
North, Is having a delightful trip,
visiting friends In different sections.
On leaving Macon she first stopped
In Washington and Philadelphia, then
later went to New York where sho
spent some time. Afterward she
visited friends at Burlington, Vt.. on
Lake Champlain, and Is now with
friends In Rutland. Vt. Before re
turning home she experts to go to
Montreal, Canada, for a visit, and will
stop In Washlngtln en route home,
reaching Macon In time for the holi
days. Miss Davis Is one of Macon's
most popular young women and her
return will be hailed with pleasure by
her many friends In the city.
