BANKERS WILL

Macon Institutions Say In

OODLES OF MONEY HERE
Warehouse Receipts Good Enough Col*
Ister.l on Whloh to Obtain Ad
vances, Says Cashier Cobb of the
Commercial and Savings Bank ond
President Brown of the Central
Georgia Bank.
Refering to the local story In yea-
days paper In which The Exchange
and American National Ranks offered
to advance money on cotton ware
house receipts, Mr. J. J. Cobb, cashlir
of the Commercial and Savings Bank,
when seen by a representative of The
Telegraph yesterday raid:
•'Yes, we are prepared to lend money
on cotton warehouse receipt*. In fact
this 1* a very high claaa of collateral,
viewed from the banker's standpolna.
The Commercial and Saving* Bank la
prepared to advance money on thl*
collateral to the merchants and farm-
ere.”
Continuing, Mr. Cobb said, “wo have
now a much larger reserve than at
this time last year. Our ability to
serve the merchant* and business men
of Macon and the .planters throughout
middle Georgia could hardly bo be. ter
proven than by stating the fact that
our resources within the last ntne
years have Increased over 800 per cent.
This Is a remarkable showing and, as
I said before. Is most gratifying to tno
officers and stockholders of the Com
mercial and Savings Bank. You may
say to the people of this section that
wo arc always ready to advance
money on conservative lines when we
can assist our farmers and merchants. 1
CapL Robt. H. Prown, president of
the Central Oeorg’n Bank was called
up over the telephone last night amt
said that he hop*d that the farmers
would not plant a very large crop next
year.
“But I want to say," continual CapL
Brown, "that the Central Georgia Bsnk
Is, and always has been, the steadfast
friend of the farmers of middle Geor
gia. Of course, we will lend them
money on their cotton stored In the
warehouses. We will be glad to co
operate with them In any wuy that la
to their interest."
A Costly Mistake.
Blunders are sometimes very ex
pensive. Occasionally life tteelf Is the
price of a mistake, but you'll never bo
wrong If you take Dr. King's New Life
