THE MACON DAILY TELEGRAPH: FRIDAY MORNING, OCTOBER 30, , 1908
What’s New in Men’s
Neckwear?
Nothing startling. Fashion
this season, iB not automatio,
but allows a liberty of ohoice
that will suit every man’s
fancy. And that is as it
should be.
This store never offered a
more varied or attractive as
sortment in neckwear, plains or
fancy, quiet effects in pro-
nounced novelties.
The variety is seemingly
endless..
Today in our window we are
displaying a wide end four in
hand, in 10 t different rich
shades.
It is a Persian effect.

HOW THINGS WERE HEARD • |WASTED HIS ELOQUENCE
ON AN OLD-TIME DRONK
With the thunder* of applause of
tho Maaoua’ meeting overhead in the
auditorium, the frequent patting .of
the etreet care on the tide, the sTam-
mlni of the doort by too carelett peo
ple. and the constant and racking
coughing of people with bad colda, to
tay nothing of loud convertatlona In
the hallway and the unaccountable low
tone of voice that tile officer* use
in stating their cates, the matter 6t
hearing the proceedings of the re
corder’s court yesterday •morning was
something flerco.
DANDRUFF.
An Easy Task to Cur* It When You
Know How.
There arp three kinds of dandruff
ores;
Hood dandruff cures. • .j , .
Bad dandruff cures.
And Plain liquid Junk.
The A rat is good to put on the head:
the second is good to keep off.tne
head; and the third Is good to flush
out the sewer.
The owners of good dandruff cures
say our remedy will cure you In two
weeks or money back.
The owners of bad dandruff cures
guarantee nothing, but open* their
money howling fake at the good dan
druff cures, which policy they
aider is a clever method of enticing
the wheckels from the unwary.
Parisian Sage la a good dandruff
It la guaranteed by King A Oil-
phant to cur© dandruff, atop falling
hair and Itching scalp In two weeks
or money back.
It kills the' dandruff microbes, It
promotes a new growth of hair. It
makes hair soft and luxuriant, and is
without doubt the most pleasant and
Invigorating hair dressing made to-
flay.

Knocked Out
John Banks was charged with loit

night crouched In a stairway -on Pop

the officer any Intelligent account of
himself. First, he said he was from

from Atlanta. He was in Macon and
he had no place to go and bad no
money. That was all.
He was a big strapping fellow, mus

health. Just such a man aa could
get a Job at almost any kind of work
for the asking. The court viewed
him critically, and then asked what

But ‘After All No Great Harm Was
Donseths Recorder's Court.
An inoldent that gave the old police
men something to smile at occurred at
the recorder's court the other mom-
iqg.
, One of the most popular attorneys of
tjtie city was at the court looking after
some clients, and was asked by one of
the old-timers if he would nut. make
an appeal for him. Tho attorney
never eaw the man before, tut his
sympathies were arouse, and merfly
as an act of kindness he made quite
an eloquent little talk for the man.
When he said, however, that this be
ing the first tiros the man was ever
up for being drunk, the smiles on the
faces of the old policemen broadened
Into big grins. The man at the bar
hastily corrected the attorney In a
low tone, and said it was the first
tlmo before the present recorder.
It so happened that at various times,
something like one hundred, the man
had been up on the charge of being
drunk, and in the past twenty years
had probably been arrested on that
charge by every one of the old offi
cers. But tho appeal went, and he
was let off.
