to the grounds a series of free at
tractions will be offered to everyone
who cares to witness them. Mile.

ance will open at 1 o'clock. A band
concert. "The Clowns' Congress." a

well as the menagerie, will be sure to

commence at 3 p. m.
At 8:10 In the evening the. free at

The circus Is the strongest attrac
tion at the fair. The performance Is
meritorious and southern critics agree

shows now on tour.
The three trains of Cols Brothers'
World-Toured Shows arrived In town
early this mortllng. and today the big
day of the Macon Oeorgln State Fair,

In the street parade. This procession
will leave the grounds at 10 o'clock,
passing over the following route:
Fhlr grounds to Walnut street. Wal
nut to Fifth street. Fifth to Mulberry
street. Mulberry to Cotton avenue.
Cotton avenue to Flum street. Plum
to Third street. Third to Cherry street,
Cherry to Fourth, and thence to the
fair grounds by way of Walnut street

All preparations were completed last
night for the annual convention ef Eta
Province of tho Phi Delta Theta fra
ternity which will meet today with tho
Mercer chapter and continue through
Saturday.
President E. Marvin Underwood, of
Atlanta, will reach the city today.
Delegates from the chapters of Phi
Delta Theta located at the various
colleges and universities of Georgia
and Alabama will also begin arriving
early this morning. It Is stated that
the Ontlre - membership of Phi Delta
Theta at Tech, Emory and Georgia will
be ■present at this convention. These,
together' with the. local alumni and
other alumni about the state, will
probably bring the attendance well
over the hundred mark.
The sessions will be held In the
oarlors of the Hotel Lanier. Many
•leasing and entertaining features
•tats been planned for the visitors,
among them a dance on Friday night
at the Log Cabin Club. The conven
tion will adjourn Saturday afternoon
for the Mercer-Goorgla football gam*,
and will close that night with a ban
quet.

Mr. T. J. Carstarphen Is out a twenty-
dollar bill, and no clus *.a the man who
got It
Wednesday hs left his store, that of
the Carstarphen Co., on Second street,
for a few minutes, leaving one of the
porters. Joe Key. on the sidewalk In
front AS he returned by the rear of
ths store he saw Joe going out of the
front door. Having during his absence
heard, or thought he heard, the \cash
drawer pulled out he went at once to
the drawer and made tho discovery that,
a twenty-dollar bill hs knew to have
been there was missing.' He called Joe;
In but Joe knew nothing About It. j
Officer Drew was called In and Joe,
was locked up. There was no money I
found on him.
That was all the evidence before the *
court, and this ws* not In the Judgment i
of the recorder, sufficient to commit. ■=
and the case was dismissed.
