a Leo county farmer, this year hits made
126 bales or cotton on 100 acres of L*o

This land fifteen years ago could liav-
been bought for $2 an acre,, and the limit
of cotton haa not been rearhod by Mr.
Mines even with this fine yield.

Nearly every aurfece well around Is go
ing dry and many fanners are forced to
dig deep, bored wells to prevent their
stock suffering. In the long mn the deep
well is a saving, as tits health of those
using this water is always very greatly
bettered. Also experiments have shown
that the digging of a well through tho
rock to the w*ater strata will drain tnsny
of the ponds In this county and reclaim
large areas for farms. The draining of
ponds this way has been repeatedly tried
and passed the stage or experimenting.
