That there is decided real estate
awakening In Macon Is attested by the
large number of real estate trAnsfers
made In the very suburbs Of Macon,
particularly In that terrltdr? along the
Bellevue rar line.
Last week one deal* alone was con
summated whereby O. C. Earle Added to

to ft reporter yesterday:

21st:
ltead what tho Mncon Nows says in its issue of November
"For boYuo time the eyes of real es
tate Investors »have been cast on
property along the Bellevue car line,
as. the trend of Maoon Is decidedly in
that direction.
"The Willingham Loan A Trust Com
pany have mada a big purchase, as
have too the Vlnevllle Improvement
Company. Tho latter have already be
gun to develop u small tract, and if
anything Is needed* to emphasise the
growth of this territory. It la most
vmphntlcally emphasized In the price
of $1,000 a lot. which the Vlnevllle
Improvement Company are having so
llttla trouble in getting.
“One of the best known men Ih Ma
con desiring to Invest a large sum of
money to build bouse* to be sold upon
easy terms, has after a careful study
of conditions, decided that property
along this line particularly at Log
Cabin Heights Is destined to become
the most desirable residential section
within the next five years.
“The aoquIslUon of aome (wo nr
three hundred lots waa made through
Mr. O. C. Earle, whose faith In that
property of which he Is a large own
er, hus been steadfast and firm for the
post twd years. That Mr. Earle'*
confidence in Log Cabin Helghte has
beeh keen foresight Is attested by this
big purchase as well as by an inter
view with Mr. J. W. MeFnrlnnd. su
perintendent of tho Mncon Railway A
Light Company, who said to a reporter
this morning:
" 'In tho pnat nine months tho traf
fic on the Bellevue cat Hho has in
creased greater than any other line In
the city. As an Illustration of tho
growing demands of that territory, wo
aro rebuilding tho ehtlro line with
more power.
"'We are now completing a line to
Log Cabin Heights to supply electric
lights to homes.' We have also order
ed a number of eight truck cars for
the Bollevue car line* and plan ulti
mately to continue the Hne on through
to tho old Plant Place, known as the
Idle Hour Form, which will be con
verted Into a pleasure park very much
after tho order of ‘Wonderland' at
Coney Island. A big amusement at
traction oC this kind. I believe will
mean a great deal for the city. In
the first place it attracts a great many
people from outside towns, and thus
naturally contributes materially to tho
betterment of business for local mer
chant*.
‘“Of course with the addition of an
n’musement park of this kind, the ter
ritory along the Bellevue lino will be
In great demand, and should consid
erably enhance It in value. If for no'
other reason than Jis proxJmlly to the
park, but the one thing that will bring
this territory Into greater demand la.
that It will show the pleasure-travel
ing people on the line, how desirable
is this realty, a good deal of Its being
higher In altitude than any other
point In Bibb county.
-•We realize that Macon Is growing
In this direction a grout deal faster
than any other, and we are making
every preparation to take enfe of the
Increased travel. Ah an Instance of
now rapidly people are moving to
houses on the Bellevue car line, we
are now running car* every fifteen
minutes, with a two-car schedule dur-
lug rush hours. Compare this with I
tho half hour service of about a year
ago. and tho growth 'eeeftid nothing
short of wonderful.
"Of course, It Is bound to grow even
faster for this tncrenxod and better
trolley service does thorn to build up
property than anything alar. We havu
already cut down running time to Log
Cabin Heights, which aeems destined
to eventually become a popular suburb
of Macon, ihd as soon a* the switches
are re-la Id we will further reduce the
time maay minutes.'"
MR. DOO GUNN

ter heatlhg apparatuses In which event
cellars will be provided. To Insuro
absolute drynesa. the cellar noei* will

It la <julte possible that srnrl# of these
cottages will be built concrete, and as
cotnent Is lower In price than It hne
been for years an well as lumber being
a great deal. cheaper, It seems to bo
a most auspicious time for building.
Without question houses can be built
cheaper by 20 per cent thnn would cost

so hard to*get now, becauae there is
not a scarcity as there has been In the
past.
