MERCER WILL TACKLE HOWARD IN GOOD GAME THIS AFTERNOON Howard Brings a Flno Team This Thanksgiving—Game Starts Promptly at 2:30 and a Big Crowd Will Prob ably Seo the XIck-off. The annual Thanksgiving foot ball gamo In Macon this yegr Is between Mercer University and Howard College of a Birmingham, Alabama. This day not only doses the season here nt Mercer, but In all but a few of the largest col leges In the country. Tho Mercer boys are very much elated over this season's foot ball, although they did not do murh with the larger colleges, they showed a vast Improvement over last year. Last Thanksgiving day was marred by very rainy weather, but the prospects for today are much better than then in sjdte of what the weather man aaya. Contrary to the popular belief. Howard College has a very strong team this year. They held the strong Auburn eleven down to. the score of 18 to 0. one touch down less than Mercer did when they were here. They aslo held tho crack Alabama team down to 17 to 0, and came very near scoring on thorn, too. Mercer will have a much harder pro position In Howard than most people think, as Mercer beat them last year and lias a much stronger team than sho did then. Hut Howard also has n much stronger team than she did last year. Mercer will have to look out for several players on that team, as they deserve especial mention. Denny, at left tackle.
