Idea
Perhaps you have an idea that in order to have a
hank account you must have a largo’ sum to deposit;
that a bank doesn’t Care to "bother with smkll accounts.
•This is not true of the “Fourth.” This bank wel
comes new accounts, no matter how small, and extends
the same courtesy and servico to small depositors as to
large ones.
Let us prove it to you.

NEW YORK, Nov. 25—The cotton
mterkot was leas actlvo 'today and
ahowed continued lr^;ularlty, but the
undertone waa fairly steady and tha
close tvaa steady, net three points low
er to eight points higher, late months
being relatively firm. Sales waro es
timated at 150,000 bales. The market
opened steady at a decline of laS
points on all months except August,
which was net unchanged, and during
tho early session ruled about 2 to 8
points net lower owing to disappoint
ing cables, pre-holiday liquidation and
rather bearish showing of the crop es
timates by New York cotton exchange
members. Hut offerings were well ab
sorbed and during the afternoon prices
developed considerable firmness on
covering and some fresh buying for
long account, which was probably pro
moted by talk of steadier interior mar
kets and expectations of a broadening
public demand- after the holiday. Aft
er showing a net advance of la5 points
on the active months prices eased off
8 or 4 points from tho top under real
izing. The Individual crop estimates
of 170 members of the New York Cot
ton Exchange range from 12,400,000 to
14.650.000 bales, the averago being 13.-
321,000 bales.
Last year the average estimate of
the exchange members was 11,973.000
bales. Private advices from Memphis
reported an unusually good spot da
mand with factors inclined to hold,
8outhem spot markets officially re-
ported were generally unchanged.
Port receipts were heavy but were
again exceeded by the days’ exports,
and he heavier movement of tho last
two or three days Is supposed to re
flect the demapd for end of the month
commitments.
Receipts at the ports today 90.507
bales against 64.181 last week, and
56,054 last year. For tho week 425.000
•against 405,493 last week and 335,820
last year.
Today's receipts at New Orleans 21,-
163 bales against 14,444 last year and
at Houston 25,196 against 2,510 last
year.

stock exchange. This buying was suf
ficient to enable tho market to stand
up against tho heavy profit taking
sales which were going on to meet tho
demand. Thereafter tho resisting
power Of tho market >\<Mk<Micd and
lower priccw were registered. The
supposed Imminence of a financial
project for the* benefit of Southern

of a tendency. The tone of reaction
Ibecutne more clearly deflped with the
announcement of tho Erl© project for
ihe Issue of 830.000,000 of five per cent
collateral bonds. It would
possible to asy whether the decline
In Erl© which followed was caused
wholly by speculative realizing or to
disappointment over the form and
scope of the financial plan. A rise
of a point In Atchison was lost on thel
publication of the statement of earn
ings for October which wero unde
niably favorable with a gain In net
over October of last year of 1498,300.
Tho New York public utilities and the

groups were affected by suppositions
of coming favorable supreme court de
cisions on the 80-cent gas law and on
tho contested commodities claus* of
the Hepburn law. The agitation for
reduction of duties on steel had gome
depressing effect on Unltod States
