Nov. 25—To day formal announcement was made by Attorney General Caldwell that the trials of th* alleged night rider* would be begun during the present term of court. The application for the release of Felllt tV. rinton was denied, and he wes returned to Jell at Dyersburg Jamee Correlous. charged with a vlo Jatlon of the internal revenue lawe. a plea of guilty waa entered. He wea sentenced to one month land fined 9100. In the case of the government against Ennis Owens, violating reve nue law, a plea of guilty was- entered and the defendant was fined 2106 and one month. The government prosecuted Thos. Lowe and Grant Ferguson for Illicit distilling and found both guilty. They were given fines of 1100 each and sen tenced to three months each. They entered pleas of guilty.. In the case of tho government against Jaa. R. Dukes, a sentence of one month and a fine of S10Q waa Im- posed. He was charred with Illicit dla tuning. HABEAS CORPUS CASES BEFORE JUDGE WILEY Tom Bmlth was given a similar sen tencs on a similar charge. Petitions In voluntary bankruptcy were filed In the court today by Sam Knrellta and L. C. Goodwin.
