■A Mistaken-
Idea
Perhaps yon have an idea that in order to have a
bank account you must have a largo sum to deposit;
that a bank doesn’t care to bother with small accounts.
This is not true of the “Fourth.” This bank wel
comes new accounts, no matter how small, and extends
the same courtesy and servico to small depositors as to
large ones.
...... Let us prove it to you. ,t»-

MONDAY'S FALL IN U. 8. STEEL IS
FOLLOWED BY OFFERINGS OF
THAT STOCK.
NEW YORK. Dec. 1.—The professional
operators in storks did most of the busi
ness in today’s market. Their transac
tions were in the class of securities
designated specialities for the most part,
market pools making their influence felt
In mors titan one cuss in moving prices
much at will.
Yesterday’s heavy fall In the price of

today by further free offerings of that
stock. A single transaction of 20,000
shares of steel was made on tho floor

during the day. The selling
is regarded as being promr
extent at least by theMf

■ Another development of today was the
def ulte arrangement by international
banking houses to ship gold to Paris nn|
Thursday. Another rise in the foreign
exchange rate today wiped out the mar-1
gin separating the price from the point
of profit on gold shipments. Bankers
estimate that the movement may run to
210.000,000 or S12.000.000. It Is beilevedi
that uninterrupted selling of American I
securities by foreigners Is the dominating
cause of the movement. The call loani
rate was affected today, although In
slight degree, flab-treasury operations
tnuk $2,634,000 from the banks on account I
of n return of gold deposits called for
last week by the secretary.
Yesterday's announcement of the sale
of 250.000.000 of American Telephone
bonds was supplemented by the report of
the coining Issue of 220,000,000 United
States Rubber bonds. Next Saturday
bids are to be submitted for the 220.000.-
000 Panama canal bonds. Tho liquidation
which has been In progress for several
days past probably was prompted in
varying degree by all of these motives.
It proceeded to on extent that brought
relief during the course of today's deal
ings and opened the way for a consider
able recovery. The cessation of the
pressure On United States 8teel and on
some other prominent stocks was of more
Influence in bringing this about than the
more sonsationnl advances in a group of
specialties. Rock Island preferred was
conspicuous in this class. Its volatile rise
being unexplained by any news bearing
on the property.
Tho 2% per cent for call loans touched

Ridiculous Claims
JF WE BELIEVED ALL WE. SEE IN PRINT every
A house who owns an empty whiskey barrel are distillers.
We often wonder if the public believes so many ridiculous
claims. There is so much of this loose talk about “our large
distillery, etc.”, that it is a detriment to the honest dealers’
business It would probably pay in some cases to refer to the
United States Internal Revenue records—they tell the truth.
We own the. old fashioned distillery No. 100, Collection
District, Tenn., it is not a hot air affair, either. It is located
on our farm in a valley where there is no dust and contaminat
ing air. The mountain spring water used in distilling is purity
itself.
We use the best Northwestern’ Rye and Malt and Tenn
essee Valley Corn. You may think you cannot tell anything
about whiskey, but you will at once discover the difference in
your favor when you order here. . •.
With one exception, six full quarts is the smallest ship
ment made—we do not assort. This reduces the cost of
handling, packing and carriage charges, enabling us to offer
six quarts at about the price we would get for four.
Do not let our low prices prejudice you. They are whole
sale and you buy direct.
Our whiskies are always the same.
