When court opened, the Jury on the case of Marlon Raffleld, the negro who burglarised Head's VJnevlIlo drug store, returned a verdict of guilty. He was sentenced to five years In the penitentiary. An order was passed transferring the case of Joe Tidwell, charged with a misdemeanor offense, to the clt) court. Will Mingo was convicted of rob hery end sentenced to ten years in the state prison. He recently robbed Kaplan's jewelry store, making bfa escape and going to Savannah where ha pawned some of his loot, and whery he waa also captured. Pig Thomas, a flfteen-year.old ne gro. was convicted of assault with in tent to murder, but because of hte youth he was given omy six months, with the alternative of paying a flnu. Jim Thompson wad found Igullty of car-breaking, receiving sentence ef five yesrs. HI broke Into a oar In the Central of Georgia yards and stole fifteen Stetson hats. He later sold these hats at such reduced prices that an Investigation and then his arrest followed. When court adjourned a Jury was out on the cases of Henry Jackson nnd Charlie Lyon, charged with rob bery. Going to Houston. A special term of the Houston SU' perior court has been called and Judge Felton. Solicitor Brunson and the other officials will leave Monday morning. This extra session of court will he held for tho purpose of Indict ing end trying the negroes who kill ed Mf. James II. Hall. The defendants made a motion that the suit be dismissed, but such action was not allowed. Judge Speer ordered, however, that the plaintiffs file their ease hi equity within the next ten days.
