OF THE OPERA OF “ERMINIE--
IN WHICH SHE PLATS THE
TITLE ROLE.
For two months post Miss Sarah
Reddy, of East Macon, has been vis
iting In Savannah, Ailing the place of
a member of one of the church cnolrs
while on her vacation.
On Thursday night the amateur* of
the city presented the 0P«ra "Ermlnit"
for the beneAt of the Eagle* of that
city. In quite an extended notice of
the performance the News *ay«:
The production of “Ermlnle” at the
theater for the beneAt of the Eagles,
last night, proved a success both from
the standpoint-of finances and the
stage end. The performance went off
without a hitch and the amateurs that |
appeared are to be congratulated for
the production which crowned their
work.
Of the principal* Ml** Sarah Reddy,
who essayed the title role, without
doubt deserve* the greate*t praise. A
Macon girl, and practically unknown
to Savannah, she made an excellent
impression and her encore at the end
of the pretty Lullaby Song waa well
deserved. Her full, rich soprano voice
was heard at Its best and she made
the best of her part.
The performance from its musical
standpofnt was under the able direc
tion of Miss Olive Gould, who was the
recipient of a handsome bouquet of
roses, as was also Miss Reddy. Miss
Theus and Miss Grother. Miss Gould
was assisted by Mr. Noble A. Hardee,
who put thd finishing touches to the
solo and duet work of the principals.
The staging was In the hands of Mr.
Henry Roche.

HAWKINSVILLE, Georgia, Dec. 13.—
Mr. J. H. Taylor and other* wil o«en
a new bank here within a fow weeks'

the Huggins office building for ten years.
The bank is to be capitalized at $50,000,
