I hope you will bring me Just what I ' * liave been good boy this A case similar to that which went to the court of appeals from Ocilla was before the recorder yesterday morn ing. License Inspector Herr ngton found L. F. Crawford, a Confederate vet eran with a near-beer place on Mul berry street, and although the veteran's license was shown him. the inspector gave Mr. Crawford a summons to ap pear at recorder's court yesterday morning for violation of the Kci'use ordinance. Mr. Crawford was present with his small to talk attorney, Mr. Jesse Harris, but Judge u r q U li art said as the city attorney wanted to be in court at the hearing, the case would be act down for Sat urday. Inspector Herrington said that he knew Mr. Crawford had a veteran's license, hut he had been instructed by City Attorney Hall to make cases against all those selling near-beer without a license,-whether veterans or not, and he was merely carrying out those Instructions. Attorney Harris had with him the decision of the court of appeals in a case carried up from Ocilla. A vet eran In that place sold near-beer, claiming that as a veteran he was *x- cimpt from municipal l|cens<l The city held that he was not exempt and the case went up with the result that the veteran’s contention wag upheld. Th© declaim will be made the argu ment for the dismissal on Saturday of the case against Crawford. This Is the first case of the kind brought before the recorder.
