Judge TAft Indulged in go’f today,
and with Mrs. Taft and the boys was
a member of a box party given In his
honor by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas at a
local theater here tonight The an
nounced appearance of the president
elect at the theater resulted in making
the occasion one for an elaborate so
cial demonstration as well as of pop

In Happy Mood.
Decidedly pleased with his Imme
diate surrounding*, with the spring
like balmy air and with the cordiality
of his reception In Georgia. President
elect Taft was in a happv moot as ho
went to the golf links to try conclu
sions with his son, Robert.
“Three years ago father and I play
ed a very even game, but I have play
ed little since, and know little of Ids
game now.” This was 'the modest
comment of young Taft, who is n
sturdy specimen of young manhood,
already fully his father’s height, but
showing no evidences of excess weight
tendencies. •
Mr. Taft said today that he had
made no announcement regarding the
calling of an. extra session of congress
other thnn that mado by hint during
the campaign, which was to the effect
that there would "bo no delay. It Is
bis purpose, so ho said today, to con
sult with senators nnd representatives
on the . subject beforo deciding on a
definite date.
In Terett Cottage.
On Monday, the Taft family will
leave the home of Mr.-and Mrs. Lau-
don A. Thomas to take up their oc
cupancy of the Terrett cottage, with
which Mr. Taft 1* greatly pleased. The
cottage was built at least seventy
years ago. It |s of spacious dimen
sions and homelike arrangement, it
Is artistically set in a background of
massive trees and shrubbery and with
its comfortable furnishings presents a
restful appearance. A wide reception
hall through the center divides Mrs.
Taft’s reception room and the big of
fice room on one side from a large
reception room for Judge Taft nnd a
capacious bed room and bath on tho
other. On the second floor are sleep
ing rooms for the children. A new
broad board walk has been built from
the house to the side entrance of the
Bon Air Hotel where the family will
go for meals.
