Smith had sworn out n warrant for
the sheriff on tho day of the killing,
charging him with disorderly conduct
on the ground of tho alleged Insult.

This was Mabry Geiger, sentenced ft*
serve fifteen years for criminal as
sault. lie was a prisoner In the
Wayne county Jail at the time of tho
killing, but escaped mysteriously dur

Judge McAlpin Resigns.

county, has forwarded his resignation
as president for Georgia of the Red
Cross Society. For a number of years

seven miles out was arrested by Dep

laws.
