It is estimated that $200,000 spent on the Ocmulgee would make navigation easy all the year, with no danger of Interruptions by Ipw wa ter. Although no dredging has been done, government boats have done a great deal for the river In the way of snag pulling and the construction of Jetties. The appropriation for this work has been practically exhausted. If the next appropriation Is not suf ficient to guarantee at least five foot of water all the year, General Manager Gamble Is of the opinion that the com pany will have to Inaugurate an ox- hange at Hawkingvlfe, using tho two boats now in commission between that point nnd Brunswick, while -others of lighter draft will have to be construct ed to handle the business Into Macon during the dry season. There Is nothing new’ In the terminal situation beyond a report that tho company may spend $30,000 or more In the construction of Its town terminal at Brunswick. Nothing definite as to this proposition can be ascertained be yond the fact that It has not yet reached the board of directors. Poultry Show in Gotham. NEW YORK.
