The modern Hoggins of a Barber- ous age.
The immortal Huggins, the Prince of Barbers
and Coiffeurs, was distinguished for the keenness
of his Razor, the fragrance of his Soap, arid the*
fanciful and graceful manner in which he was
wont to prepare his snowy suds. Charmed with
his character, I have made him rnv model?i*ad F
flatter myself that 1 can approach a gentleman’s
nose, whiskers and curls, with that delicacy off
touch and elegance of movement which so strik
ingly characterised the great Father of Shavers.
The following are the terms upon which I ope
rate :
Tweaks of the nose, or 1 shave, 12 l-£5-
Variety oftweakings, ora month’s
shaving, including pulling hair, $ 1 50
Pulling ditto, or torturing the head,
vulgarly called cutting hair, for

not kinky, ... 05
These rates, considering the anticipated retire
ment from business, of the great Shaving Shop,
the Bank of the tl. States, must be viewed as •
moderate in the extreme,
