The subseiiber would infirm the Citizens
of Macon, and those whose business brings
them hither, that he Ins now completed his Sta
ble on Second street, in a style inferior to but few
in the Southern country. He has also been dai
ly adding, and will continue to do so, all that
is necessary to the comfort of the man of plea
sure, and for depatch to the traveller. He has
now on hand, used in the Livery, some forty ht ud
of horses, with a number cf Barouches, Gige,
Sulkeys, &c. which are mostly new, and others
areundero ing repairs nec saury for the season;
besides which, in a few days, will receive an ad
ditional supply ol Gigs and Sulkies, well suited
to the taste and wants of the place.
Attached to the Livery Stable, is a coach-ma
ker's, painters, trimmers, and harness manu
factory, as well as a Blacksmith shop ; and hav
ing been at much trouble and expense in procu
ring good workmen, for all these different branch
es, will enable the subscriber at all times to keep
his vehicles and harness in perfect repair.
E vers care and pains will be taken to promote
the interest, comfort and convenience of the Pat
rons of the Establishment; but the subscriber has
been taught by experience, that persons hiring
must make gdod all the e delays, and injuries,
w hich may happen. It is proper here to remark,
that all carriages, gigs, or other vehicles, or horse,
being injured by accident, ill-usage, or other
cause, the person having hired the same, will be
held liable therefore, for each day, the article or
horse is withheld as unfit for service ; and also
for repairing and feeding, during such delin
quency.
The heretofore established Prices will conti
nue to govern, and may be seen at the Livery
.Stable; they areas moderate as the .times will
admit.
STAGE TO MONTPELIER SPRINGS.
During the ensuing summer and fall, the sub
scriber will run a daily Yack between this place
and the Montpelier Springs ; commencing on tne
first day of June—leaving Washington Hall, in
Macon, at” o’clock, P, M. where seats can be
procured, at the usual stage rates, to-say, $1,75
j)cr seat, payable in advance.
THE INDIAN SPRINGS,
Will also be visited twice a week, by hacks
running from my stable—leaving Erwin’s Hotel,
in Macon, every Tuesday and Saturday, at 8 o’-
clock, A. M. and leave the Springs at 8 o'clock,
on Thursdays and Monday’s ; price of a seat, $5
in advance.

Possessing as it does, the advantage of a land
ing which for convenience is not excelled by any
on this river; together with that of being located
at the junction of the main road leading from Co
lumbus to Apilachicola, and that leading from
Hartford via Traveller's Rest and Lumpkin to
the Chuttahoochie; and being so situated as to
command the trade of an extensive back country
of the first fertility of soil, rapidly setting by a
wealthy and respectable populace, Milton can
not fail to become a place of considerable erm:-
nierce; and the acquisition of the adjacent Indian
territory (which will probably bo soon effected i
will greatly increase its importance, its local
situation is truly interesting, being on an eleva
ted plain, CO or 70 feet above the surface of the
Chattahoochie, affording an extensive view of the
river and the opposite country ; and entirely re
mote from swamps, marshes or any thing indica
tive of sickness. Iwo saw mills are heinn-erec
ted near the place and will be ih operation In the
