The moment you think a thing wicked, The moment you do a thing had, AW angry or sullen or hateful, Get ugly or stupid or mad, Or tease a dear brother or sister— That instant your sentence he knells, • \ud the whole to mamma in a minute. That little bird tells! you may be In the depths of a closet Where nobody secs but a mouse, you may be all alone in the cellar, You may bo in the top of the house, You may be in the dark and the silence, Or out in tho woods and the dells— So matter! Lord Lartsdowne has just been obliged to fleo to England from bis Kerry estates because bo felt bis life to be in jeopardy there. The immediate cause of Lord I.ansdo'- ne’s flight has not yet been an nounced, bat no doubt it was hastened by the receipt of threatening letters, which seem to be flying over Ireland in all di rections just now. London, November 27-—A dispatch from Berlin says a great attempt is being made to excite tho indignation of stu dents against the Jews by tho Sioccker party. Paris, Novtmber 27—Tho national says the general impression-produced by the DeCissey libel suit is very unfavora ble to Deputy Lais ant, and that when tbe committee on inquiry lias to be appointed several deputies of the Left will probably protest against tbe proceeding. M. Girar- dln.inLa .France, ascuses Deputies Laisant and.LeFaure of having dragged tbe Cham ber of Deputies into a false position by an abuse of its confidence, and insists that MM. Laisant and LeFaure ought to resign their scats as deputies. At a meeting of the Republican Union, hi. Lelievro pro posed a vote of censure upon M. Laisant, buttbo latter not being present at the meeting, the motion was abandoned. Rome, November 27.—Not only is there talk of a coalition between the Ittght and extreme Left for the overthrow of tho ministry, but the possibility of a coalition of these parties for tbe construction of a ministry is seriously discussed. London, November 27.—At a meeting of the Cabinet Council at Windsor to-day it was decided to summon Parliament to meet on January Cih for dispatch of business. Paris, November 27-—The trial of the suit brought by General DeCissey is con cluded. The court, after admitting ex tenuating circumstances, condemned M. Laisant, editor, and M. Cbanvin, manager of Le Petit Parisenne, to fines of 4,000 and 200 francs respectively and 800 francs damages, for which they are jointly re sponsible. They arc also ordered to pub lish the judgment in ten newspapers. The same sentence was imposed on M. Roche fort, -editor, and M. DePierre, manager of L'InLrxmsigeant. . London, November 27.—The Econo, mist tbis week says the rate of discount for bank bills, at sixty days to three months, is I j to 2 per cent., ami for trade bills at sixty days to three months, 2 to 24 percent. In home railways and Euro- [iean stocks, speculation on the whole lias jeen less rampant than ten days or a fort night ago, but in ail kinds ofsouth Amer ican securities, United States and Cana dian railways, Indian funds and colonial debentures, it Las certainly incteased. Prices advanced in almost all depart ments on the Stock Exchange. The markets dose firm, despite the gold withdrawals from the Bauk of England for shipment to America, because of the opinion Hut with the cession of Duicigno active coercion of Turkey will cease for a time at any rate. Turkish bonds, also, advanced in view of the foregoing opinion. In fact, the market is now inclined to view everything favorably. Various causes, in cluding the early dosing of canal naviga tion, have favorably affected American railways. Erie preference shares have risen Sd. Many mortgages have also advanced. Berlin, November 27.—The police have torn down placards in tbe southeas tern quarters of the city, directly inciting the inhabitants to the persecution of the Jews. Constantinople, November 27. -The Montenegrins at first demanded a month’s delay before occupying Duicigno. Der- vich Tosha and the admirals of the fleet refused. The occupation was peacefully completed at midnight. London, November 27.—Mr. Leonard nenry Courtney, one of tbe most advanced Liberal members of the House of Com mons, addressing bU constituents at Lis- ard, said if tbe resolution to forego ask- ; for coercive powera was based on the niouof the Irish executive that they Jem unnecessary, he should bow to tlieir more intfnitte acquaintance with the sit uation, but if It had been come to be cause one or two persons of eminence, sitting at ease in London (meaning Messrs. Bright and Cltambeilaln), had registered a vow under no circumstances to acqui esce In requiring stronger powers for Ire land, Le should say the resolution was mere superstitious adherence to principles which could not command respect. If the government had decided to Introduce an act to prevent the carrying of anna and midnight prowling, he should have given them iiis strong support. London, November 27.—'Tli* rise in Turkish funds in London and Paris is owing to the rumor that Mr. Rivers W il- son has accepted the mission to proceed to 833.06 Agent’s Profit p Will prove it or forfeit $5C : .
