The Bonanza wsa notified to atop telling beer,

Ihe proprietors of the Kimball House met the la

Hoke A Hurt'-.n Smith, W. T. Newman and W. D.
Ellis, asking an Injunction restraining the city

the license. Late this evening Judge Richard Clark

the city officials, who have expressed the oplutou
that tbe liquor dealers have acted strictly within
the law, aud that the interference of Police Com
missionerHartiu waa without warraut, nit-gal, and
will not be approved by the majority of the board.
One of tne members cf the police commission
to-night, in criticising Martin, aald that none
the member* of the board had beeu talked with
consulted a* to this summary action, and that the
assumption of authority by Martin would
promptly and severely condemned.
The Big Bonanza, at this writing, have engaged
counsel, who are nnvlng to get an Injunction simi
lar to that obtained by the Kimball House, and
they say they will open aa aoon aa they hear from
Judge Clark.
The caees will be heard to-morrow morning. The
liquor men are confident aa to the result. It la
more than likely that damage suits will be tjrougbt
against the city for the Interference with business
this afternoon.
To-night there 1# an immense crowd oa the Deca
tur aide o the Kimball House, and all are drinking
beer. The crowd dlsrussee the events of the after-
noou and the majority seem to take aldoe against
the city. Other developments are hourly expected.
Oglethorpe county, which has five rotes. For these
five votes there will be a contest, as two sets of
delegates will be before tbe convention asking for
cats. One of these is for Reese, and tho other for
Carleton."
“How t about Reese's vote?”
'He has ten rotes, and It la believed that he will
get Wilkes, which will give him five more
votes, making flfteun. Putaum county baa five
votes instructed for Nesblt. Should Nesblt
go out of the race, and these five
votes go to Reese, he will still lack one
vote of having as many aa Carleton. So you see
Oglethorpe from thn present outlook, controls the
present situation. If the vote from this county
divides, two and a half votes going to Carleton and
the same to number to Reese, Carleton will be
nominated."
'Is there not some danger that the contest over
the delegates from Oglethorpe will cause such a
wrangle that the convention may not make a nom
ination?"
“Yes, each a thing might happen, and ln the
event of its happening, the eighth district may
have two candidate* ln the field, Carleton and
Reese, both Democrats, and neither of them being
the nominee. Now, you understand the situation.
That ia the way the contest looks at the present
time. Should any one of the conntlea that are to
day conoeded to either Carleton or Reese go the
other way, it will make quite a change In the polit*
leal atmosphere of our district If it should so
happen that neither candidate is non Luted and
both run, why, then you may look for lively times
in our district**

Atlanta, July 10.—Tbs situation in this

Tbe dealers are Indignant at what they term the
