Ilardin and H- II. Cabanias for permanent secreta ries. They were unanimously elected. W. A. Barris offered a resolution return ing the thanks of the people of Georgia to Hon. Henry D. McWhorter, of Green, offered a resolution providing that immediately af ter the nomination of Governor the conven tion shall seleol State house officers in the following order: Secretary of Stale, Treas urer, Comptroller and Attorney-General. Adopted. t Mr. McWhorter, of Greene, then moved that the convention proceed to nominate a Governor; but on a point being raised that Bartow conld not vote until the contest for seats should be settled, the resolution was withdrawn. On motion of Mr. Lovett, of Clinch, a re cess of twenty minutes was taken, to allow tbe representatives of the Congressional districts to seleot their nominees for tho State executive committee. Mr. Patrick Walsh arose and said the committee on credential, by a vote of 14 to 5, reported in favor of seating the dele gation headed by It. H. Haralson, Harris (1), Houston 111, Jaaper, Jeff raon, Jonea (IS), Laurena, Liberty, Macon, Marlon (1). McIntosh, Plckena, Pike (2), Polk (1), Quitman, Richmond, Tatuall (1), Telfair, Troup (2), Twlgga, Walton (1), Wilkinson. The question recurring on the majority report, it was adopted by a viva voce vote. Air. Mcyerhardt, of Floyd, offered a resolution, which was adopted, declaring in favor of the majority rule in the nomina tions by the convention.
