Charleston, November 5.—A light bnt
marked aliock of earthquake was felt in
Charleston at 12.2G p. in. This was the
first shock in a and lighter than
that of October 22. No damage
is reported and there is no interrnpthn of
business. All the schools were in session
«t the time of the shock. One pupil in
the colored school was erushed in the
panic of pnnils, and several pupils iu the
Shaw school (colored) were injured by fail
ing plastering. No one was seriausly in
jured.
Charleston, November 7.—A moderately
strong shook of earthquake was felt hern
at about 11:04 to night. It was preceded and
accompanied by the usual rumbling sounds
though in a somewhat milder form thau
has been usual of late. This shock wa- of

earthquake shocks at Columbia at 5:40 a. in.
and 1:12 and 1:15 p. m. The two latter
were also felt at Summervillo and oth^r
