Chattahoochee went aground near Fort
Oglethorpe last night, while on her W3y up
to the city, and remained stuck until to

off this morning. She will probably get off
on to-night's tide.
The navigation of the river has been very
difficult since dredging was suspended last
spring, and the heavy shipping business of
the port is being greatly interfered with.

in the viltage of Montezuma, and that they

The raid of Governor Torres, of Sonora,
Mexico, and hia men into Montezuma dis
trict, was more fatal than was at first sop-
posed. From reliable Mexican gentlemen
who are reeidanta of this town, yonr cor
respondent learns the following facta: After
tbs' killing of Prefecto Torres, who was
s cousin of tha Governor, the Utter resolved
upon some kind of vigorous retaliation.
A oouple of weeks ago tha Governor, ac
companied by Commandan Toma,
cousin of hia, with 16U State troops,
started tor the Montezuma district. At the
town of Hnntrznma, tha capital of the
district, thev met the revolutionists, headed
by benor Vellarda. This waa the earns
party that killed Prefecto Torre*. The
Governor on seeing the party uada ready
for fight, but sabteqacnlly an armiatlea
was held, but blood ou either aids being
warm no amicable conclusion v as arrived
at and Governor Torres, pulling his piztoL
fired and killed Vallarde in his tracks. A
Here* fight then ensued which resulted iu
fifteen men being killed and several
wounded.
