the rounds hero to-day that Mr. Joseph
I’ulitzir, of the New York World, intends
to establish a flr.t-class morning paper in
thia city at an early day. The idea 1b most

scores of citlzena who have
expressed themselves to me on the
,eject. Tho rnmor is strongly denied by
tho Constitution people, though it is stated
on good authority that some of the owneis
of that paper are now in New York trying
to bi i; Mr. Pulitzer off.
The last census of Atlanta showed a pop
ulation of over 60,000 and I believe it is the
only city in the world of that size which
has only one mofning paper. Mr. Pnlitzer
may have noted this fact.
The rumor has created a genuine sensa
tion here, and the town has takon on a Pu
litzer boom. A prominent men said this
