Honse tojnjght. About 20 members of
Congress, were present, including repre
sentatives from seetioni opposed to the in
ternal revenae 1/1100, who voted for the
consideration of the tariff question a few
weeks ego. A measnre for introduction in
the Honse was substantially agreed npon,
as was also the mods of prooeednre. The
measnre agreed npon will repeal the tax on
tobacoo and dealers therein; also on frail,
brandies, and aloobol. It will plaoe on the
free list thoso articles mentioned In the
Randall bill, with some others, inch as
j nte and grasses. It is expected the articles
prosed to be added to the free list at the
meeting to-day will inoreaso by about
$3,0 0,000 the redaction of revenue con
templated by the free list of tbe Randall
bill. Tho bill will also contain tbe pro
visions of the Randall bill, redneing the
tariff on certain articles, bnt the intention
in framing it Is to avoid as far ns possible
the long discussion which a general tariff
measnre wonld oeeaston. Tbe bill. It ia
said, contemplates a reduction of $58,000,
000 in the annual revenues of the govern,
meat.

mittee yet to be appointed will be chosen

morning ranged in the vicinity of 30 de
grees below zero. Tbe heavy snow storm
of Sunday and tbe intensely cold weather
sinoe have greatly impeded travel, and the
bulletin board at toe union depot this
morning shows tost through trains on all

some lines travel has been saspended two
days.

the Superior Court recently to test the con
stitutionality of toe Dow liqnor law and Its
application to wholesale dealers. Qaeelions
were decided by toe conrt to-day declaring
tbe law constitutional, and that it applied to
wholesale dealers. Thera are about sixty
dealers in Cincinnati interested in tke qnes-
tion, and thoy propose to carry the ease to
