velopment of sensational circumstances in
the case of Mirs Nina Van Zindt, and her
determination to become the wife of August
Spies, the condemned Anarchist, culminat
ed to-day in tho prostration of Mrs. John
Arthur, Nina’s wealthy aunt. The aged
grandfather, William B. Clark, and the af
fectionate aunt both lie stricken by the
waywardness of the young lady. Ninas in
tense spirit of refutation of interference and
her stunning characterization of Mrs. Ar
thur’s remonstrance against the marriage as
an “unwarranted outrage,” added to and
abetted by her assertion practically that
she did not care for the $400,000 which her
aunt was able to bequeath her, produced the
most shattering effect upon Mrs. Arthur’s
wounded sensibilities, and when a reporter
callod at her residence she wos unable to
see him. Tho pervanls stated that Mrs.
Arthur was too ill to seo any one and that
Mr. Clark was no better. The scandal has
created a sensation in society circles and Is
the topio of the hour among nil classes.
