round house, the work in this department
was not completed.
There were about thirty engines in the
round house this morning, among them
the historic engine, “General,” witli which
Federal spies cut loose from a train at Big
Shanty and ran up to Ringgold. It pre
sented’ a striking contrast to the forty-
seven ton ten wheel engines of to-day.
