GROWING BRIGHTER.
The situation to-day seemed grout y im
proved. The weather ia bright and many of
the convalescents and sick took advantage
of it by indulging in sun-baths.

the hospital very low. Several others wen

already here more outset than could be well

To prevent the occurrence of yellow fever
in infected bouses during the present season
and next sumiuer, all infected articles of bed
clothing and wearing apparel worn by the
sick are to be disiniecud. To accomplish
this end bed clothing and all infected gar
ments will be 6teeped in a solution of cor
rosive sublimate for at least six hours and
then be boiled for at least half an hoar and
dried. An ample supply of a solution of
corrosive sublimate is kept on hand at the
corner of Forsyth and Newnsn streets, aud
applicants are supplied with the solution
aud directions for its use upon application.

The medical stafT of visiting and home
physicians assembled this afternoon at the
headquarters in the Barres block to adopt
suitable resolutions on the death of their
associate, Dr. L. T. Eddy. After several
very laudatory addresses tne following pre
amble und resolution were adopted:

dence to call from our midst our beloved
brother and friend, Dr. L. T. Eddy of Louis
ville, Ky.; and, whereas, we . dmire the
vraud, noble and self-sacrificing impulse to
which he responded so cheerfully and

Brunswick, Ga., Sept. 25.—[Special.]—
The yellow fever at Fernandina, Fla., has
scared up the Brunswick board of health,
although this city is more healthy now than
at any time in a ye&r. A cordon of armed
pickets been thrown around the entire
city, and the military arc ou duty, lafdntry
at night and cavalry in the daytime. After
to-morrow no person al! will be permitted
to come here without a health certificate,
descriptive of the person and countersigned
by the bearer.
A great many solid citizens are ridienling
the ideAofso rigid a quarantine as altogether
unnecessary. They conteud that fever would
not spread if brought here.
It is said that a large party of young la
dies will make a circuit of the picket Hues
to night when the moos rises aud supply the
bojB with sdudwitches und coflee.
In answer to a call from the mayor some
fifty dry goods clerks and rui.ro&d employes
snouldered their guns und marched to daty
to night. The boys consider it great fun anil
the town heic has been livelier than since
the East circus.
