ful almost every month in the year, and
cheap enough to be enjoyed by tho

tho city market a day or two since, ac

Kelson. There is no Utter or neater
kept market house in tho state of Geor
gia, and it is hung with appetizing good
things from one end to tho other.
In the meat division the stalls aro hung
ith fresh, fat beef and fine-looking jurk,
mutton, lamb and veal. On inquiry it
wus learned that beefsteak was selling at
jO io 121 cents per pound, pork and mut
ton at 12), sausage at 10 and lamb at 15
cents per pound.
Geese were found to be retailing ot G5
cents a piece, ducks 20 to30 cent*, chick
ens 20 to 40 cents, and turkeys 75 cents
1 in tho fruit stands, kept principally by
Jews, cranberries wcreeelling at 15 cents
per quart, apples 25 tents per peck, to
matoes 10 cents pet quart, and oranges
15 cents ner dozen.
Fresh country butter and eggs wero in
rood demand; the former at 25 cents per

dozen.
Vegetables were plentiful and in good,
fre>h condition. Turnips were going al
5 cents per bunch, cabbages 4 cents per
jound, snap beaus 10 cents a quart,
lulte beans 20 cents per quart,
onions 10 cents a quart, egg ‘plants 5
cents apiece, peas two quarts for 15
rents, Irish potatoes $1.2) a bushel, sweet

Gown stairs, in the fish department,
