town is greatly excited to-day, over the
robbing of the store of L. Baum & Ccx,
last night About 10 o'clock, a negro
man in the employ of said firm went to
the home of N. B, Baum and informed
him that some one was breaking into the
store. Mr. Baum hurriedly dressed and
with his pistol came running to tho store
and sent the negro boy for one of his
clerks. Upon Mr. Baum's arrival at the
j store, he found the door slightly ajar,
which proved to him that it had been
entered, Mr. Baum fired one shot and
rwnainod at the door. Being very deaf
he wanted to hurry up his clerks, a
also let the burglars know that they w
discovered.
